Our E-litter was born in August 2001 from the mating between Tarzan van Tiekerhook, SchH1, KKL1, OFA good hips and V Daggi von der Felsenmuhle, SchH3, KKL1, a normal hips. TarzanTarzanTarzan was owned by Philip Tran, who lived in South San Jose. Philip used to call me to get him a Yoschy son because he had heard that Yoschy produced medium sized dogs because that would be perfect for him since he is only 5’3” tall. Philip had a young black colored Wito von der Stadt Schmalkalden son who would frustrate him because he had Panosteitis and Philip could not work him. Anyway, Philip got the Yoschy son without my help but he was a large dog, not the medium sized dog he expected. Tarzan was a very athletic looking dog bicolor dog with long legs, nice head, short back. I liked Tarzan from the day I saw him. To me he was more of Fero-type than Yoschy-type. He was very calm and self assured at home, and worked very well with Philip except in the protection phase. Tarzan had full and hard grips but he was extremely possessive of the sleeve and outing on the sleeve was a problem. Philip stopped working the dog after getting SchH1 because of the tremendous pressure he had to put on the dog to out. Tarzan had no aggression towards other dogs, and Philip had him in the same kennel as the black dog the day I went to breed to him.

I chose Tarzan for the breeding because he was healthy, self assured, and strong nerved dog. He had longer legs, and good pigment which I thought would complement Daggi’s shorter legs, and lighter color. Daggi AppearanceDaggi AppearanceTarzan was linebred 2-3 on Fero, and Daggi had no Fero in her so that was another plus. Tarzan was much better looking in person than what he appears in any of the pictures I have seen but Philip was not someone who would actually invest any effort in promoting the dog. Tarzan did not need Philip’s help; he promoted himself through producing outstanding working dogs. It may be true that he produced some breed faults such as undescended testicles, bad hips, bad elbows etc., but it is also true that he produced many outstanding working dogs and produced full griping dogs even when bred to females who would bite the sleeves with the canines only.

See Daggi’s description under D-litter. (Daggi with Mark James)

This litter produced 3 males, Eumah (a National competitor with my friend Hal Lymus), Eukahn, and Enno. All three
dogs had all teeth, no long coats, no undescended testicles, and OFA passing rating on hips and elbows.
