Our D-litter was born in January 2001 from the mating between V Rex von Karthago, SchH3, FH2, KKL1, a normal hips and elbows and V Daggi von der Felsenmuhle, SchH3, KKL1, a normal hips. We imported Daggi from Germany because she was a very nice dog with great credentials and came from a litter of 9 dogs where all the dogs were titled. Four of her littermates competed at the LGA, and one at the BSP. Daggi’s father was V Marc vom Herculesblick, SchH3 and her mother was V Peggi von der Felsenmuhle, SchH3. Both Marc and Peggy were very good producers and since Daggi’s pedigree had no Fero and Mink it gave us an option to breed to the dogs who had Fero and Mink in their pedigrees. We had bought Daggi to breed to Arek but we lost Arek before we could do the breeding.

Daggi & Mark JamesDaggi was a medium-large bitch with very correct conformation. She was somewhat light in pigmentation but had dark eyes, lips, and nails. Daggi was a very friendly dog, with great disposition. My son used to call her “Piggy” because she loved food. Daggi was so friendly that there was a time when I was really skeptical whether her titles were real or not. So, I called my helper friend, Mike McLauglin, and asked him to work her before the crowd showed up at the club. Daggi went through an instant transformation as soon as she saw the helper, and after barking for few times, she grew impatient, and bit the helper in his chest. Daggi had a particularly strong bite, which never changed after she gripped, and tremendous fighting drive. She was an easy breeder and a super mother. Unfortunately, she died at an age of 6 years due to cancer.
Rex vom KarthagoSire: V Rex von Karthago, SchH3, FH2, KKL1, a normal hips. Rex was Mr. Dean Calderon’s dog, and was owned by Mr. Fritz Biehler, before Dean imported him. Rex was a very dark sable, and correctly structured dog with tremendous drives in the tracking and the obedience phases. Rex was a son of Aly vom Vordensteinwald, who is known to be one of Troll v.d. Bosen Nachbarschaft’s son, and Rex’s mother was Xambra Karthago, who descended back to the old famous Karthago female, Afra vom Stoppenberger land through Randa (the mother of Okar Karthago). Xambra’s father was Cliff von der Mohnequelle, who had a number of breedings in Germany. Xambra, was a very good producer as well, and produced Dusty von Karthago, Vox vom Karthago, Rasko von Karthago, and Rick von Karthago, amongst other good dogs.
We did this breeding to improve health (since Aly was one of the best hip producers in the history of the breed), the pigmentation, and the overall working ability.
